Excel…To merge or not to merge…that is the question 🤔

For Art:

• 🎨 Use merge for stunning, static headers/titles
• 👍 Perfect when aesthetics are key

For Data:

• ❌ Avoid merge if you need to sort, filter, or run formulas
• ⚠️ It disrupts layout flexibility—making it hard to insert or delete rows/columns
• 🔄 It messes up references, copy/paste, VBA & accessibility After I wrote this…I felt so guilty 😅💔.

Apparently merging is rarely a good idea except for those rare artful moments 🎨✨.

👉How to Center Across Selection:

1. Select the cells you would normally merge.
2. Press Ctrl + 1 (or right-click and select Format Cells).
3. Click Alignment tab.
4. Set Horizontal drop-down to Center Across Selection.
5. Click OK
